| HMS Victory Under Construction A 1:40 scale model of Nelsons flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar. This model is being constructed by club members with the intention of being completed for the two hundredth anniversary of Trafalgar in 2005. It will be the centre piece of our sailing battlefleet and will be equipped with working pyrotechnic effects including cannons, smoke and collapsing masts. The model is built around 10mm thick ply frames and is planked with french oak! The completed model will be over 2.5 metres long and will incorporate a piece of timber from the original HMS Victory. |

The other half of our Trafalgar Display is also being built along side the Victory. The model is of the French warship Redoutable, and is of the same size. The Redoutable is actually a rebuild, and was once a model of 'The Sovereign of the Seas', the boat was built in 1996 by Team Member 'Eddie Stechman' who passed away in 1998, it has been in use all that time and has had many refits, now it is to become the Victory's adversary and will continue to be a key model for many years to come. |
